H5 Names Professer Arthur R. Miller to its Advisory Board
Harvard Law professor and celebrated commentator lends expertise to document review services and risk management firm
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - June 26, 2006 - H5, the leading provider of fully automated document review and analytic services for the legal industry, today announced that Professor Arthur R. Miller, Bruce Bromley Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and world-renowned expert legal commentator, has joined its Strategic Advisory Board. As a member of H5’s advisory board, Professor Miller will help shape H5’s strategy in addressing the information management challenges that major corporations and law firms must contend with when faced with the demands of document-intensive litigation or regulatory compliance requirements.
“Professor Miller’s knowledge of civil procedure is unmatched, as is his insight into how business solutions can help improve the legal process,” said Nicolas Economou, CEO of H5. “We are honored that he will contribute his thought leadership to further H5’s own objective to enable corporations, litigants and the legal system at large to adapt to the unprecedented information management challenges that they face today.”
Professor Miller is widely recognized as the leading authority on civil procedure, a subject on which he has authored or co-authored more than twenty-five books. He is also nationally known for his work on copyright and unfair competition, and right of privacy. In addition to his numerous academic exploits, Professor Miller carries on an active law practice, particularly in the federal appellate courts, and has argued before the United States Supreme Court. He is also a critically acclaimed legal writer and commentator, having contributed to numerous media outlets, including ABC, PBS and Court TV.
“H5 addresses a critical issue that law firms and corporate legal departments can no longer afford to ignore: the ability to measure the accuracy of their review results, and thereby verify the adequacy of their review process,” said Miller. “The legal discovery system is in need of significant, fundamental change, and I am truly delighted to play a part in a company that will be the catalyst for this type of change.”
Among other responsible advisory positions Professor Miller has held are those of Commissioner on the United States Commission on New Technological Uses of Copyrighted Works, Reporter for and Member of the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules of the Judicial Conference of the United States, and Reporter for the American Law Institute’s Project on Complex Litigation.
