Senior Attorney and Former BankAmerica General Counsel Joins H5 Board

Michael Halloran to serve on H5’s Strategic Advisory Board

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - June 1, 2004 - H5, a leading developer of information discovery, analytic and threat detection applications, today announced that Michael Halloran, a senior partner from Pillsbury Winthrop LLP and former General Counsel of BankAmerica Corporation, has joined the company’s Strategic Advisory Board.

Mr. Halloran is The Senior Partner of Pillsbury Winthrop’s 340-attorney Corporate, Securities and Finance section. Mr. Halloran was Group Executive Vice President and General Counsel for BankAmerica Corporation, San Francisco from 1990-96. He served as chief worldwide legal officer for BankAmerica, managing over 450 employees (185 attorneys), and was adviser to the board and senior management. During his tenure at Bank of America, Mr. Halloran was ultimately responsible for managing the largest litigation caseload in the banking industry, and one of the largest of any company in America. He was highly successful in reducing the legal costs of the institution through effective case management and other techniques.

During his 27 years with the Pillsbury Winthrop, Mr. Halloran has acted as general outside corporate advisor to many companies, both large and small, public and private. He has acted as advisor to multiple forms of corporate finance and structuring transactions, including the formation of many venture funds and advice on portfolio investments, many acquisitions, all forms of corporate and partnership public offerings, investment company and investment advisory firms and funds, project financings, and secured debt financings.

In July 2001 and 2002, Mr. Halloran was named one of the "Top Lawyers in Silicon Valley" in a San Jose Magazine survey. He was also honored by the BTI Consulting Group in December 2001 with their "Client Service All-Star Award," an award given to 78 attorneys nationwide based on the Group’s survey of 200 General Counsel of Fortune 1000 companies. In addition, Mr. Halloran was placed on the Global Counsel 3000 Recommended List in 2002.

Mr. Halloran is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (B.S., 1962) and the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law (LL.B., 1965).
